“Bread get stale in about 5 days, bananas get overripe in 4 days, deli meat expires in 10 days, beer in an open can goes flat in 45 minutes, and a shower will turn moldy in 7 days. Yet we have politicians serve 30+ years.”
Bernie Sanders is 85 years old and has served in Congress for 36 years. He represents Vermont. Since age 16 he has been a radical/liberal. His record of achievement as a congressman is dismal. He has introduced many wacky bills, but few have ever passed into law. Sanders introduced bills like taxing CEO pay, stopping aid to Israel, anti-fracking bill, etc. Sanders is a Socialist.
Liberal politicians, like Sanders, use catchy campaign phrases and promises. They want to be re-elected and/or raise money. Most of their ideas have not been researched or analyzed for viability. Their “slogans” sound exciting to certain groups of voters.
“Free Health Care for All” is an example. The improbable implementation of this idea would be catastrophic for American taxpayers. The healthcare industry already has 32% non-payers. According to the CDC, about 300 million Americans have private health insurance. That coverage would stop if the liberals implemented “free healthcare.”
“Amnesty for illegal immigrants,” is another liberal idea. People that crossed the border illegally during the Biden years, unvetted, uneducated, unskilled, without verifiable identities would be allowed the remain in the country. What about the criminals? Gang members, drug smugglers, fraudsters, etc.? This slogan is a very dangerous idea.
“Thirty-two-hour work week.” This absurd proposal was introduced into Congress in a bill co-authored by Sanders last month. According to the bill, employers would pay workers 1.5 times their hourly rate for all hours over 32 hours per work week. And-when implemented, the bill states that employers can not reduce the worker’s total weekly pay as a result of the shortened work week. This proposal is madness. And could have a catastrophic effect on the US economy. Sanders has never run a business. His bill should be killed before it hits the floor!
Sanders should retire.
