High Truths and Low Lies

Worldwide, the US. is ranked 38th in math scores and 24th in science. These rankings have declined in recent years. Most education scholars worldwide believe it is critical to begin a child’s education with great skills in K-3. Children need a great start. Reading, writing and basic math skills must be taught well at the beginning.

However, in NC there is a fight over K-3 curriculum. Progressives want to teach these young K-3 kids about gender identity, sexual orientation, the use of 50+ pronouns like “reverse trans trending” and other LGBTQ concepts. Progressives do not want parents to have a say in what is being taught in elementary schools. This is complete madness! Progressives also want to deny parents the access to textbooks and other instructional materials used in the classrooms. This is also madness!

I believe it is the parent’s role to teach their kids about these issues. The majority of residents in NC do not support the progressive’s agenda. We all know that it is wrong. Does anyone trust a recently graduated elementary school teacher to instruct a 6-year-old child about sexual orientation????

In K-3 the schools must teach reading skills, writing skills, numbers and basic math, and some basic science. That’s plenty if done well. There should not be any time allotted to sex ed, gender studies, and LQBTQ concepts. The children are too young. Period!

The Medal of Freedom is our nation’s highest civilian award. It is awarded to individuals that have made especially meritorious contributions to the security and national interest of the United States.

What the hell was Biden thinking when selecting Rapinoe for this award??

Rapinoe is a 37-year-old lesbian. She is an outstanding soccer player and helped the US Women’s team win several World Cups and Olympic medals.

However, she made international news when kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem, especially when overseas. During interviews while outside the US, Rapinoe criticized the US repeatedly, and frequently spoke in violation to the US Soccer Federation. And-demonstrated poor sportsmanship to her American teammates and international opponents. She also uses very bad language, cursing when interviewed often on national and international TV.

She does not deserve this high honor. She is not equal to other recipients like Colin Powell, Stephen Hawking, Ellsworth Bunker, Carl Sandburg, Henry Ford, Bob Hope, Robert McNamara, John Steinbeck, Neil Armstrong, Henry Kissinger, Jonas Salk, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Billy Graham, Jacque Cousteau, Mother Teresa, Milton Friedman, Thurgood Marshall, Rosa Parks, Gerald Ford, Simon Wiesenthal, Dr. Ben Carson, Jack Nicklaus, and many others.

Biden has screwed up again. Rapinoe does not represent American values, nor has she made any especially meritorious contributions to our nation. What a national disgrace!

I cringe when Joe Biden goes overseas. He is on the world stage and displays total weakness and mental incompetence.

I take no joy in publishing this article. I want our president to be a strong and effective leader. The world needs the US President to be a force for good! Our enemies are watching.

It is obvious to all that Joe Biden does not have the mental and physical stamina to be President. He is an embarrassment.

Joe Biden can’t walk, he shuffles. He can’t think on his feet. He uses the teleprompter for even the easiest comments, and he can’t read the words. He needs 3 X 5 cards to tell him where to walk, when to sit, when to speak, and when to stand. He can’t read 2 sentences without making gaffes, often horrific mistakes like “the honor the Holocaust” instead of “the horror of the Holocaust” when speaking in Israel. He recently criticized the United States Supreme Court when speaking in Spain at a meeting of world leaders. Disgraceful!

Biden extends his hand for a handshake when no one is nearby. He often seems confused when exiting a stage. He needs “handlers” to physically guide him as he is walking. He often claims “I will get in trouble” if he talks off-script. Biden also reports false data, lies to reporters about his life experiences, tells extravagant tales about his exploits, and sadly, blames others for his mistakes.

Joe Biden has signed 92 Executive Orders as of 7/13. These orders direct all branches of our Federal Government to implement radical changes to policies, most of which are left-wing dangerous changes. There is no way that Joe Biden has even read these Executive Orders. He does not have the cognitive ability to understand complex directives. He just signs the documents. This is very dangerous and has been harmful to the US.

Lastly, Biden has a short fuse. He gets angry at reporters who ask tough questions! He prefers press conferences when he can read from the teleprompter and then depart.

Biden is not fit to be President, not at any level.

Postscript: Harris Teeter had Oscar Meyer bacon for sale at $8.49/lb. A year ago, the price was $5. 15…….thanks Joe!

It is very unfortunate that the city of Charlotte has such a deplorable newspaper.

This week the local “fish wrap” published an editorial about NC’s preparedness for the upcoming recession. The article blames the NC Republican Party for failing to foresee the economic downturn. Funding and expanding Medicaid, unemployment insurance, access to healthcare and several other social benefits are cited as failures according to the one-sided article.

Apparently, the newspaper thinks NC should increase reserves for these freebies! Nowhere in the editorial does the “fish wrap” mention the Democratic party’s failed economic policies that have led to record levels of inflation (9.1% in June), record gas prices, record levels of food prices, shortages, and wreck less spending.

No, our newspaper blames the Republicans for not being prepared. I say look at the root cause and put all the effort into fixing those calamities!!!!

This week NC Governor Roy Cooper vetoed a public safety bill which would have required NC sheriffs to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The bill protected the safety of NC residents. Shame on Cooper.

The bill would have required local sheriffs to contact ICE when an arrest was made of a violent and dangerous person whose citizenship could not be verified. This includes those arrested for rape, murder, sexual assault, kidnapping, domestic violence, armed robbery, sex trafficking, drug smuggling and other serious crimes. Holy Crap! How can any public official be against that?

Does law enforcement in NC fail to cooperate with the IRS, the FBI, The Dept. of Homeland Security, the DEA, FEMA, or the FDA?? Why not cooperate with ICE??? I guess it is political. Cooper says the sheriffs will have “trouble recruiting Hispanic deputies.” Cooper also says the bill will single out Hispanics. Hmmm? He says Hispanics will be reluctant to report crimes. I believe there will be a decrease in crimes to report for all people. These are violent criminals that may be in the US illegally.

If I were governor, I would place public safety above all else. I would ask for help from the Federal Government on all matters especially public safety.

Cooper is being “handled” by the political extremists which are in the minority. Cooper must be voted out of office.

The NFL has a big problem. There are not enough Black coaches and GMs in the league. Someone determined that based on the % of Black players. So, the NFL is sending front office people and coaches to a “Diversity Clinic.”

The “Diversity Clinic” is a 2-day event which the NFL calls an “Accelerator Program.” The goal of this program is for NFL owners and head coaches to meet diversity candidates during a speed dating process. In May, 60 diverse people participated in the program. White men were excluded.

This is madness and based on a grossly flawed calculation! The real diversity problem in the NFL is the lack of white players. Black players in the NFL make up 70% of the league, yet Blacks are only 14% of the US population. White players are underrepresented by 30-50%. This is an outrage!! And clearly an indication of systemic racism.

The league must take action to recruit more white players, and set team quotas for % white players. I suggest a 3-5 year plan to get the league’s diversity problem to parity. The goal has got to be 70% white players. I hope Belynda Garnder is the right person to lead that effort.

The most recent Bond movie was about the same plot as previous 007 movies. Bond was saving the world against the evil Russians. This time the weapon was a DNA fluid that targeted enemies. There were some good fight scenes, car chases, explosions, stunts, and a little romance.

Danial Craig played a retired British agent, called back into service to thwart a global threat. He was not 007. That designation went to a large Black woman!! Check that box!

Judy Dench was not in the movie. Too bad! “M” was played by an old white man that was part of the evil plot. Check that box!

“Q” was played by a gay man with a partner. Check that box! Regrettably, “Q” did not have many new gadgets.

An attractive white woman played Bond’s liaison. She was sexy in a low-cut black dress. In fight scenes, she must have killed 20 heavily armed assassins. Check that box!

A young Black woman played the secretary Moneypenny! Check that box!

So overall, the movie was politically correct. I gave the movie 3 stars.

The State of NC is considering yet another scheme to make healthcare free. Apparently, some percentage of people living in NC are in debt, and healthcare bills are part of the problem. So, our state leaders want to make healthcare free. Baloney! There is no such thing as free healthcare. Either the hospitals and/or paying patients are going pay for others. Advocate Health System is reporting 35% of their patients currently are non-payers. What will happen if that % goes to 50% or higher. Nothing good!!

I have never supported the idea of healthcare being a “universal right.” People are not “entitled” to anything for free and especially healthcare. Over the last 53 years, I have paid $200,000+ for medical insurance. And- more than that amount for deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses. Most people are like me!

Every notable economist knows that full employment is the key to a strong economy. A prosperous economy is good for everyone, especially those families in the lower levels of income. When people are working, their employer provides medical insurance and pays usually 2/3’s to 3/4’s of the premium. Many people work for the healthcare coverage. If healthcare is made free for a large number of state residents, people will quit working. Unemployment will rise dramatically, and the economy will decline which will hurt the exact people our lawmakers are trying to help.

And one more point-under no circumstances should illegals be granted free healthcare. Illegals are already costing NC taxpayers millions of dollars for education, social benefits, auto insurance rates, and law enforcement. Some illegals are already protesting in Raleigh for more “free stuff.” My real estate taxes have gone up $1000 in 2 years to provide funds for illegals in schools.

We must protect our healthcare industry. Passing laws granting free healthcare is not the way!

Britain’s new migrant policy is innovative. The country has become overwhelmed with migrants coming to their shores from France. Britain has tried working with France to stop the migration. About 29,000 migrants crossed last year. So-Britain’s government has a new strategy!

Effective this month, Britain has made an agreement with Rwanda to accept migrants from the shores of Britain. Britain is going to pay the government of Rwanda to take their migrants without even giving the migrants a chance to explain their asylum claims. There are just too many migrants to deal with. Rwanda gets cash for each migrant they accept.

Australia has taken the same approach sending their migrants to other countries.

Britain believes that the flow of migrants will decrease if those people know they will be sent to Africa (6,500 miles away). Perhaps so! The trip across the English Channel is very dangerous, often in crowded inflatables crewed by smugglers paid to make the crossing.

I believe a sovereign nation has the legal right and obligation to control its borders. let’s see how Britain’s new policy works. Hope Biden is watching!!!

Late last year the voters of New Orleans elected Susan Hutson as their new Sheriff. She is the first woman sheriff in the history of New Orleans and the first Black female sheriff in Louisiana. She will oversee the city’s jail which has over 1000 inmates and is one of the most dangerous in the US. Hutson is a Democrat!

New Orleans has a history of violence and ranks in the top 15 most violent cities in the US. And-violent crime in New Orleans is on the rise with 90 murders in the first 4 months of 2022. The New Orleans jail is currently under a consent degree from the Department of Justice due to poor conditions, sanitation issues, violence and deaths, and staff turnover within the jail.

Hutson has never worked in law enforcement! She is a progressive that has promised “a more humane” approach to incarceration. During her campaign, she promised better medical treatment, more visitation rights, housing of inmates based on self-identification genders and less use of force by her deputies. Exactly how is that going to work?

Hutson’s critics are very worried about her approach. They fear a kinder, more humane jail will embolden criminals. And-crime is on the rise. Good luck Sheriff Hutson. Voters in New Orleans will likely get impacted by her success or lack thereof.
